Ghostbusters ‘not region locked’

_45903445_ghostbustershere are reports that the North American edition of the Ghostbusters video game for the Xbox 360 will be region free.

The game, which goes on sale on 19 June, will be available in Europe only on PlayStation.

But it is thought gamers could get round this exclusivity by buying the US 360 versions online, through so-called “grey imports”. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Pelham 123′ isn’t the same old film

art.denzel.pelham.courtesyDenzel Washington’s new movie, “The Taking of Pelham 123,” is not a remake, even though Walter Matthau starred in a film by the same name in 1974, the actor told CNN.
Moreover, Washington’s character is not like the hostage negotiator he played three years ago in “Inside Man,” although the movie is about his negotiation with a deranged ex-con hostage-holder, played by John Travolta, Washington said. Read the rest of this entry »

U.S. Presses Antitrust Inquiry Into Google Book Settlement

SAN FRANCISCO — In a sign that the government has stepped up its antitrust investigation of a class-action settlement between Google and groups representing authors and publishers, the Justice Department has issued formal requests for information to several of the parties involved.

Digital Television Transition

The bill established that, by February 17th, 2009, all analog television broadcasts from full-power stations must cease and be replaced by digital transmissions. Why the switch? Firefox 3.5 moves to preview phase

Rather than offering a release candidate as had been expected, Mozilla this week released a preview of its upcoming Firefox 3.5 browser, adding fixes to bugs and the browser’s JavaScript engine as well as improvements for video and audio playback.

GamersGate makes play for Mac gamers

GamersGate on Wednesday announced a new online store specifically for Mac-compatible games. The company has also announced a partnership with TransGaming.

Microsoft Rivals Advise EC on an Antitrust Remedy
